This book is about the Banat village of Ujjozseffalva in Romania, known colloquially as Josefalva.  It is a collection of interviews in German and the Schowisch dialect that describe the history of the village, founded in 1882, and it describes different experiences of the villagers during the Hungarian period and the emigration of villagers to the U.S. and North Dakota at the turn of the 20th century.  The book contains English translation of the German and Schwowisch text.
