North Dakota Pioneers from The Banat

(by John M. Michels)

Paper Back

$10 Postpaid

This book is a description of the pioneer settlement of Southwestern North Dakota by immigrants from the Banat, beginning just before the start of the 20th century.  The book list the names and the villages of origin of the pioneer families.  It also includes maps showing the homestead locations and land holdings as of around 1916.  The book describes the history of the Banat people only briefly but it shows photographs of the early pioneer homes, showing their similarity to the architecture of homes in the Banat villages.
